FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Tranent Juniors have organised two events to raise much needed funds for the club.

Saturday 19th July a gentlemans breakfast is to be held in Macmerry miners club starting at 1pm speakers include local funny man Scott Glynn and sporting personality George McNeill with Jim Graham acting as chairman. (ticket are priced at £20)

Saturday 2nd August in th Juniors social club it will be horse racing madness with a ever popular Race Night (contact any committiee member for details) or check the website



Tranent Juniors are looking to add some quality additions to our Under 21s , 19s and 17s. This a great opportunity for players to have access to the Junior grade and progress through the Junior football structure as the club seeks to build from within. During last season 8 players from the Under 19s had the opportunity to represent the senior team throughout the season.

FORESTERS TARGETED BY VANDALS

The new million pound complex at Foresters Park has been targeted by vandals, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. Youths were seen by members of the public tearing off metal panels from the roof and the entrance and the police were called three youths were charged after investgations into the incident.

Councillor and vice president of the club Kenny McLeod said that he was saddened by the thousands of pounds worth of damage caused to the club rooms, but this was the latest in a line of incidents since the new building had opened in September 2007.
Secretary Elliot Morgan stated that everyone at the club were gutted at this latest attack and that some people were determined to to continue to behave like this.
Other incidents over the last few months include, broken glass on the football pitches and basketball court, graffiti, holes in the surrounding wall and fence.
East Lothian Council are now looking into erecting CCTV.




FORMER SCOTLAND STAR VOTED IN AS PRESIDENT

Neil Martin the former Hibernian,Sunderland and Scotland star was voted in as president of Tranent Juniors at the A.G.M. Mr Martin takes over from Robert McNeill who stepped down due to personal reasons. Other changes to the officals positions see Kenny McLeod former Celtic and Hearts star now turned politician take over from Jim Bannerman as vice president. Secretary Elliot Morgan will contiue in his position with Alex Cranston as assistant secretary. Paul Davie was voted as treasurer when stalwart of the committiee Ian Ferguson stepped down, but will stay to help the new treasurer settle in to his position. Brian Johnston became general manager of Tranent Juniors who will oversee the running of the club as well taking charge of the first team along with his assistant former player Derek Little.
Other well known faces and former players have come forward to help out their old club Steph Krawic, Tom McLeod, Hamish Colgan.
Mr Johnston then went on to talk of his vision for the future, saying that there is no looking back and that we must now look to the future he also said that Tranent had been a sleeping giant for too long and now was the time to put things right.

A full list of coaches, officals and new committiee members will be published in the near future.

PLAYERS ON THE MOVE

Ryan Gibb and Steven Devine have both left the club and have signed for former manager Davie Lees at Dunbar Utd

Its hoped that the new Foresters management committiee will be meeting shortly, with the priority being the second phase of the redevelopment of the Foresters upgrading of the covered enclosure and the installation of floodlights. ( WATCH THIS SPACE).
